Sarah’s charity skydive wins her top fundraiser
At STL we support any staff member who wants to do something to raise money for charity and so when Sarah Crayford our Billing Coordinator decided she was going to jump out of an aeroplane for charity we were all behind her – as long as we didn’t have to jump with her!
Sarah was taking part for Global’s Make Some Noise, the official charity of Global, the media and entertainment group. Global’s Make Some Noise supports brilliant, small charities across the Thames Valley and the UK, which help youngsters and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.
Right from the very beginning, Sarah was intent on being the top fundraiser and set about getting friends and family, colleagues and customers to donate to her fundraising page. The skydive was set for Saturday 7th October at Chilton Park Aerodrome, however, due to bad weather on Saturday the jump was postponed to Sunday morning, when there was a further weather delay because of cloud coverage before Sarah finally went up and jumped out of the plane at about 12.30pm.
Sarah said, “What an amazing experience! It’s certainly not a day I will forget and I would definitely recommend it to anyone to do it! Challenge yourself, life is for living.”
Sarah raised over £1,100 and at 5pm on Friday 6th October was declared the Top Fundraiser. Sarah adds, “As top fundraiser I received a full video and photos of the whole experience worth £120 which means I have a full record of every second of my first skydive. It was absolutely amazing and I loved it!”
Thanks to everyone’s support and donations, the group of skydivers that day raised over £22,000 for Global’s Make Some Noise. Well done Sarah, everyone at STL is very proud of you and impressed that you jumped out of an aeroplane from 10,000 feet!
