STL is sponsoring the West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award at WOBA 2018 for the third year running. The WOBA 2018 launch at Blenheim Palace on Tuesday 26th September was attended by 150 local business people, who gathered to hear the 11 categories being announced by special guest Emma Jones MBE. Robert Courts, the district’s MP, also attended and declared entries to the 2018 West Oxfordshire Business Awards open.

Ms Jones, who founded the UK’s most active small business networks, Enterprise Nation and StartUp Britain, plays an active role as Small Business Crown Representative helping smaller businesses in the UK bid for government contracts.

STL West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award

Winners of the 11 categories are considered for the STL West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award who receive a totally unique trophy designed by students from Abingdon and Witney College and crafted by Synolos. The title of STL Communications West Oxfordshire Business of the Year is awarded by the judges to the business that best represents West Oxfordshire in terms of its success, its commitment to the local area, its contribution to the local economy and its role as an ambassador representing the area on a wider stage.

Bill Smith, STL’s FD said, “Having previously been successful in several categories we believed we gained a great deal from the process of sitting down with the judging panel and having to articulate our business plan and the culture that we encourage within the company. This process has been key in enabling us to achieve strong profitable growth in a highly competitive business sector. We therefore believe that it is important for us encourage others in the same way by sponsoring the WOBA’s for the third consecutive year.”
