Sahara Force India reveals new F1 car
As a supplier partner of Sahara Force India F1 STL was invited to attend the launch of the team’s new car for the 2017 season. The VJM10 car was unveiled at the team’s Silverstone HQ by drivers Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon who pulled back the covers to reveal the team’s dynamic new look and updated livery.
According to Sahara Force India, the car’s new aerodynamic package is guaranteed to get heads turning, while the silver and orange livery retains the team’s traditional colours with a fresh twist. F1 has had a complete overhaul of technical regulations for the 2017 season with a set of new rules, so from a design and technical perspective the new car represents a significant investment in development to get the best performance on the track.
Sahara Force India Team Principal, Dr Vijay Mallya, praised the VJM10 saying, “I can’t remember being more excited ahead of a new season. The VJM10 looks aggressive and purposeful, and is the result of a huge effort behind the scenes over the last twelve months. We have big hopes for this car, which looks stunning in its new livery.”
Sahara Force India F1 finished 4th in the Constructors Championship in 2016. STL provides telecommunications solutions for the team both at head office and trackside.
The launch was full of press and a Q&A session with the drivers, Dr Vijay Mallya as well as the technical directors who have been working so hard on getting the new car ready for the start of the F1 season. The first F1 race is in Melbourne on 26 March before moving on to China, Bahrain and Russia. The British Grand Prix is at Silverstone on July 16th where the Sahara Force India team will be racing on home turf, just over the road from their HQ building.
Alan Rodgers, STL’s New Business Executive, who attended the launch said “The new car looked absolutely stunning and there was an air of quiet confidence amongst the team for the 2017 season. Everyone at STL wishes Sahara Force India F1 another successful season.”
