Unique trophy design for STL Award
Students from Abingdon & Witney College competed to design the 2017 West Oxfordshire Business of the Year trophy, a WOBA award that is sponsored by STL Communications.
The students were all studying for UAL Level 2 Diploma Art & Design. Isabel Cooper (16), Lily Foster (18) and Dawn Booker (19) won the WOBA judges and STL’s, Bill Smith, over in a head-to-head battle against five fellow student teams.
Bill Smith, STL’s Finance Director, said: “The scope and creativity of designs put forward this year were truly outstanding and all students demonstrated signs of being commercially aware in terms of their presentation skills and interpretation of the brief. I’d like to congratulate the team who went that extra mile which was reflected in their winning design.”
The trophy will be made by West Oxfordshire charity, Synolos, who have invited the students to spend work experience time in their studio throughout the production process.
There are 11 WOBA categories, the winner of each will be considered for the overall STL Communications West Oxfordshire Business of the Year Award. The winner will be revealed at a glamorous Gala Dinner taking place on 7 April 2017 when they will be presented with the unique trophy by Bill Smith.
